MELBOURNE: The Saudi Embassy in Australia and New Zealand has urged scholarship students to check the validity of their visas and those of dependents and renew them if necessary before they expire. The Cultural Attaché in Australia and New Zealand has sent the reminder via 12,000 e-mails to students to avoid “residency permits being cancelled and students being forced to leave the country, which would delay procedures for their return”. The Cultural Attaché said that any failure to comply with the regulations of the Australian Immigration Department could result in students being forced to leave, and urged the families and guardian companions of students' in Australia to obtain family member and guardian visas. “Students should also inform the immigration department of any change in university or institute placement, any change of residence address, and also acquire approval from the university or institute for that change and a letter of release to avoid cancellation of visas,” the Cultural Attaché said.
