track court in Makkah is to hear Monday claims by a secondary school pupil that his principal threw a laptop computer at him causing him minor injuries to the face. The father of the student said he and his son decided to take the case to the courts after the regional Education Administration “failed to take action over the principal's act of aggression against my son”. He said that such incidents were “common in schools” and that he had made a complaint with police, which was passed on to the Education Administration. “This sort of behavior is not appropriate for an educator or administrative educational staff,” he said. He said that the principal threw the laptop at his son in response to the latter's request for his timetable to be changed. “His current timetable puts a lot of pressure on him and might cause his grades to fall, which are currently at 97.4 percent,” he said. “He threw the computer at his face which left him with marks and bruises, as stated in a hospital report. It also left him mentally affected and he has had to be transferred ton another school as an immediate solution. We hope the case is properly addressed in the court.” Sources said that Makkah Education Administration was looking into the case and that if the claims are verified then “appropriate action will be taken in accordance with regulations, whether that be against the school principal or the pupil”.
