MANILA: L.A. Tenorio swished in a three-pointer with 3.4 seconds left to lift the Alaska Aces to a pulsating 95-94 win against the Barangay Ginebra Kings Sunday in the PBA Commissioner's Cup. Tenorio completed his heroics by tapping the ball off the hands of a driving Nate Brumfield to preserve the victory for Alaska, which joined Rain or Shine at the top of the standings with its second straight win. Tenorio finished with 18 points. L.D. Williams led Alaska in scoring with 23 points while Joe Devance and Cyrus Baguio had 19 and 15 points respectively. Brumfield topscored for Ginebra with 24 points while Willie Miller chipped in 22 markers. In the first match of the double-header, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters also registered their second straight win, zapping the Meralco Bolts, 101-92. Former NBA cager Hassan Adams shrugged off a nasty fall in the third quarter to lead the Painters with 23 points. Three other Painters scored in double figures with Ronjay Buenafe drilling 15 markers, John Ferriols with 12 and Doug Kramer with 11. Anthony Danridge powered the Bolts' offense with 31 points but was held to just four points in the final quarter. Mac-Mac Cardona contributed 22 points for the Bolts but shot just 9-of-25 from the field. In Saturday's PBA road game played in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, the Powerade Tigers claimed their first win in the conference and in the last four months, upsetting the Derby Ace Llamados, 103-96, behind the hot hands of import Russel Carter who exploded for 36 points.
