WASHINGTON: A Saudi student, Humaidan Al-Turki, convicted in 2006 in the United States for raping and enslaving his Indonesian maid, had his sentence reduced from 28 to eight years by American Judge J. Mark Henin in Colorado Friday. The ruling also provides an opportunity for Al-Turki to be released early under certain conditions after spending four years in prison. The judge praised his good behavior. The court hearing was attended by a large media contingent.
