MANILA: The two finalists in the last PBA conference both suffered stinging upsets as the Philippine Cup champion Tak N Text Tropang Texters collapsed in the endgame against visiting team Smart Gilas Nationals 98-103, while the losing finalist San Miguel Beermen was smotheread by the Air21 Express 87-92, in Friday night's PBA Commissioner's Cup double-header. Josh Urbiztondo exploded for 31 points, including 7-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc, as he led a young, energetic Air21 squad to a rousing win against the Beermen who trailed for most parts of the game. In the other game played at Ynares Gym in Antipolo City, the Nationals unleashed a 9-1 run in the homestretch to overhaul a 93-90 Talk N Text lead with four minutes left in the game to zoom ahead 99-94, with 1:49 left, en route to their first win in the import-laced tournament. As expected, 6'10” center Marcus Douthit dominated the game, collecting 26 rebounds, on top of 16 points, five assists and five blocks. Six other scored in double figures with Marcio Lassiter also collecting 16 points, Chris Tiu and Aldrech Ramos finishing with 15 each, JV Casio 14, Mark Barroca 13 and Mac Bacarael 12. Import Paul Harris led the Texters with 25 points while Ranidel de Ocampo, Kelly Williams, Jason Castro and Larry Fonacier also finished in double figures to combine for 55 points.
