DUBAI: Roger Federer will face Novak Djokovic in the final of the Dubai Championships after continuing his dominance over Richard Gasquet with a 6-2, 7-5 victory Friday. Djokovic earlier beat a hobbling Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic, who retired with the score 6-7 (5), 6-2, 4-2. Djokovic beat Federer the last time they played in the Australian Open semifinals on his way to winning a second Grand Slam title. Wozniacki vs. Zvonareva In Doha, Caroline Wozniacki blitzed Marion Bartoli in straight sets to storm into the final of the WTA Qatar Open here Friday. The world No. 1 posted a 6-1, 6-1 win and stayed on course for a second title inside seven days. Wozniacki will meet Russian Vera Zvonareva in the final after the Russian prevailed over Serbian Jelena Jankovic 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. Fish in quarters In Florida, Mardy Fish of the United States defeated Ricardo Mello of Brazil 6-2, 6-1 in a matchup of former champions in the second round of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships Thursday. Former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro also advanced, beating Teymuraz Gabashvili of Russia 6-1, 6-1. Fish will play Colombian qualifier Alejandro Falla in the quarterfinals. Falla beat Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 6-2. Del Potro will play fifth-seeded Kevin Anderson of South Africa in the quarterfinals. Anderson easily defeated Florent Serra of France 6-1 6-4. Ferrer beats Monaco In Mexico, top-seeded David Ferrer of Spain rallied from a set down Thursday night to defeat Argentine Juan Monaco 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 and reach the semifinals of the Mexican Open. Ferrer's countryman, Nicolas Almagro, also advanced with a 7-6 (0), 5-7, 6-4 win over Colombian Santiago Giraldo. On the women's side those who advanced included Johanna Larsson, Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain, Gisela Dulko of Argentina, and Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain.
