JEDDAH: Pakistan International School Jeddah (PISJ) Aziziyah outplayed Al-Beladi International School Jeddah in the final of the Under 14 Inter-School Cricket Tournament which was sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) at Eskan ground last Thursday. After restricting Al-Beladi to 129-6 in the stipulated 16 overs, PISJ stormed to victory for the loss of just one wicket. Urdu News Editor in Chief Tariq Mishkas, SCC Chief Executive Nadeem Nadwi, other SCC officials, the WPCA Executive committee members and a good crowd witnessed the final. Al-Beladi which opted to bat first was given a solid start by openers Waleed (19) and Hassan Iftikhar (22). Later top scorer Sayam held the innings together with a masterful 41 when the PISJ bowler Gohar Ali took two wickets in 2 balls to reduce Al-Beladi from 91 for 2 to 91 for 4 and eventually to 129 for 6 in the stipulated 16 overs. Zeeshan made 13 and Maaz 7. Gohar Ali took 3 for 19. Fahad and Hamza got one wicket each. PISJ chasing this moderate target was off to a fabulous start as Man of the Match Mudassir displayed his class to remain unbeaten on 62. Waseem supported him with 31 to produce 107 for the opening partnership. Hamza Shahid scored 9 not out to achieve the winning target of 130 in 14.2 overs with 9 wickets in hand. The Prize distribution ceremony was held soon after the match. Chief Guest Tariq Mishkas awarded the winner's and runner-up trophies. Nadeem Nadwi presented the best batsman award to Mudassir of PISJ. Man of the Tournament prize was awarded to Hamza Shahid of PISJ by Choudhry Zulfikhar. Waleed of Al-Beladi won the award for the best innings (112 n.o.). __
