Huwaiman, head of the National Center for Digital Certification (NCDC), has said that bank customer pin numbers contain “many flaws” and that accounts are “easy to break into and meddle with”. “The banks sending mobile telephone messages to people wanting to access their accounts is basically a way of verifying the identity of users by referring to the numbers they registered at the bank with their original bank account information,” he said. “The safest method for electronic transactions is the method used through government registering. The NCDC was designed to create safe methods of electronic business and ensure the secrecy of all user data.” A former banker in Jeddah reminded that the banks continually warned customers to periodically change their pin codes and access numbers, and said that the mobile message system was not 100-percent effective.
