DAMMAM: The expatriate population in the Eastern Province also celebrated the return home of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Navodaya, an Indian expat organization, celebrated with the people at Dammam Deportation Center by distributing sweets and essentials like washing powder to more than 800 inmates, said Naaz Vakkom, an EP social worker. “Tarheel (Deportation Center) director, Naser Mubarak Al-Dossary, Deputy Director, Saleh Al-Qahtani and other officials at the center were very cooperative and they happily arranged the event, which made it possible for us to hand out the sweets and other necessary items,” he said. The Islamic Cultural Foundation (ICF), along with Dar Assihha Medical Center, held an extensive blood donation campaign to celebrate the King's recovery. Various weekend cultural programs, including the Soorya Dammam Chapter's event at the Sheraton, Dammam and a Sarod recital by the famous musical Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons, began with special ceremonies to congratulate the people of the Kingdom.
