DAMMAM: Citizens and residents in the Eastern Province continue to rejoice that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has returned after successful surgery and recuperation. The young and elderly alike are out in the streets performing traditional dances and singing patriotic songs to celebrate.
People here are in a joyous mood and are expressing their love for their beloved King and country by displaying photos of King Abdullah and draping themselves and their vehicles with the national flag.
Saudi Gazette asked some prominent Eastern Province citizens and residents to comment on the return of King Abdullah.
“I praise the Almighty and thank Him for the recovery of our beloved King Abdullah. On this happy occasion, I would like to congratulate Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd, Governor of the Eastern Province and other royal family members. I also would like to congratulate all the citizens and the residents of the Kingdom on the occasion of the King's return to the homeland. Under the leadership of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, we women have been able to achieve a lot and our situation has progressed tremendously. King Abdullah has made sure that the status of women is upgraded in Saudi society and we have been given more freedom to utilize our abilities and become a productive part of society. It was under his keen leadership that Saudi Arabia had its first woman Minister and women have also been able to make their mark and progress in other fields, which used to be male dominated areas, such as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.”
Prof. Dr Fatima Abdullah Al-Mulhim, Chairperson, ‘Pink Eastern' Cancer Society
“The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is a humanitarian King, who has made remarkable reforms in the country to improve the standard of people living here. The love and affection the people of Saudi Arabia, both citizens and expats, are showing to the King is amazing. I believe this is because of the love and care the King has for his people and the residents of the Kingdom and for the progress he has made for this country within the few years of his rule.”
Hafiz Azzubair, Regional Manager, National Parking Company, Mowqif
“Congratulations to the people of the Kingdom on the joyful occasion of King Abdullah's return to Saudi Arabia. I join in the celebrations of the people of Saudi Arabia and thank the Almighty for King Abdullah's successful recovery and early homecoming. Saudi Arabia has a long way to go in terms of infrastructural developments and I believe, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Kingdom will reach its goal.”
Rafeeq Younis, Indian Entrepreneur and Vice President and Managing Director, Saihati Group of Companies
“King Abdullah is man of wisdom and his efforts to promote harmony among civilizations through positive interfaith dialogue has made the world a better place. His efforts to bring much needed peace and harmony in the world must be lauded and we can see that no other world leaders have taken such a step. His visions and ideas are truly unique and are beneficial for all the people.”
Siddique Ahmed, Managing Director, ITL Group

“I am very glad that our father has come home and he, Insha Allah, with the grace of God, will lead our country to better progress. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Abu Mita'b is a father figure for me and millions like me and the achievements he has made for the country, Islam and Muslims are remarkable.
