PITTSBURGH: Patrick Marleau scored his second goal of the game at 4:56 of overtime to extend the San Jose Sharks' winning streak to five games with a 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday. Logan Couture also scored while Antti Niemi stopped 24 shots. The Sharks vaulted a point ahead of Phoenix to take over the Pacific Division lead. Tyler Kennedy scored twice for the Penguins, including tying the game by stuffing in Jordan Staal's rebound, with 50 seconds remaining in the third period. Marleau scored the decisive goal during a scramble in front, and after Marc-Andre Fleury stopped Couture from in close. The rebound dribbled to the left of the net, where Marleau flipped it in. Lightning 8, Coyotes 3: At Tampa, Florida, Teddy Purcell had his first career hat trick, and Vincent Lecavalier added a goal and four assists as Tampa Bay ended Phoenix's eight-game winning streak. Purcell had one of the five opening-period goals, and added a pair during the second. Steven Stamkos scored his NHL-leading 41st goal this season, and Martin St. Louis also had two goals and an assist for the Lightning, who are 6-3-2 during a 12-game homestand. Phoenix got goals from Martin Hanzal, Kyle Turris and David Schlemko. The eight goals is the most allowed by the Coyotes this season.
