The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has approved a bid by a German company to manage the King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah and the King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh. The six-year contract will focus on the commercial management of the two airports by executives with global experience in managing airports in collaboration with administrators in Riyadh and Jeddah. GACA also announced that another global company will operate the King Fahd International Airport in the Eastern Province in another bidding with the same duration of six years. Fraport, the leading German company which owns and operates the Frankfurt International Airport, is also tasked to transform the two airports from a purely government service into an independent commercial undertaking. GACA President Abdullah Bin Mohammed Noor Rehaimi highlighted the importance of the two contracts which will help GACA achieve its objectives. __
