JEDDAH: The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Tuesday signed an agreement with Muslim Aid, a UK-based relief and development agency, with the aim to facilitate cooperation and understanding and for serving the humanity. The agreement was signed by Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, President of IDB, and Sir Iqbal Sacranie, Chairman of the Muslim Aid in UK, for collaboration in the fields of health, education, promotion, human development and social progress of the communities worldwide, and to establish the necessary arrangements to implement these goals. “We have worked on many projects in developing countries and I am confident that with this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) it will strengthen our existing relationship, to pursue our common goals of fighting global poverty,” said Dr. Ali. Sir Iqbal said that Muslim Aid is privileged to have been associated with the IDB's poverty alleviation programs. “We are very happy on the signing of this momentous agreement with IDB. This is a proud moment in the 25-year history of Muslim Aid, as well as the British Muslim community. We are looking forward to enhance our ongoing cooperation with the IDB to expand our services, serve humanity and help countries achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals,” he added.
