(Okaz photo) TAIF/AL-WAJH/RIJAAL ALMA': Members of the security forces in Taif marked the imminent return to the Kingdom of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, with a blood donation campaign involving some 200 officers Monday. Some of the blood donors, many of whom came forward knowing that they are from rare blood groups, had cut short their holidays to join in the campaign. “The security forces have shown in the field their love for their country through sacrificing their blood in the fight against terrorism,” said Muslim Al-Ruhaili, head of Taif Police. “Now they are doing it by donating their blood.” According to Khaled Al-Harbi, head of the Special Emergency Forces in the Kingdom, the campaign in Taif was part of nationwide blood donating schemes. “All officers of the Special Emergency Forces are donating blood in a joint expression of the joy at the return of King Abdullah in good health,” he said. “Love of the King cannot be measured in lives, much less blood.” In Al-Wajh, blood donating police officers said that it was a “religious and national duty”, while the regional blood bank described the donation campaign as “health and humanitarian work”. In Rijaal Alma' in the province of Asir, the regional police force began its blood donation campaign on Sunday to coincide with other events in the region celebrating the imminent return of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, where streets and squares have raised the national flag and been adorned with portraits of the King.
