Wozniacki to play Kuznetsova in final

DUBAI: Caroline Wozniacki reached her first final of the year by beating Jelena Jankovic 7-5, 6-3 for the first time in the Dubai Championships on Saturday.
Wozniacki, who will retake the No. 1 ranking Monday from Kim Clijsters, will face Svetlana Kuznetsova Sunday. The 16th-seeded Russian beat Flavia Pennetta of Italy 6-4, 6-4.
The top-seeded Wozniacki fell behind 3-0, 4-1 and 5-3 in the first set. She summoned her father Piotr courtside at 3-0 down.
“He just kept encouraging me,” she said. “He said ‘No worries. You just made a few mistakes out there that weren't necessary but just keep your feet moving.' I know these things already. But it's just nice. Just calms me down a bit.”
Soderling-Cilic final
Top seed Robin Soderling powered into the Marseille Open final with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Dmitry Tursunov Saturday while Marin Cilic also went through after a touger test.
Croatia's unseeded Cilic survived a match point at 3-5 in the final set to outlast Russian No. 3 seed Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 to reach Sunday's showpiece.
All-Spaniard semis
Spaniards Nicolas Almagro and Tommy Robredo will meet in the Buenos Aires Open semifinals having won their rain-delayed quarterfinals Saturday.
Sixth seed Robredo beat David Nalbandian 6-4, 6-4 on Center Court, while top seed Almagro won 7-5, 6-3 against Argentine wild card Jose Acasuso.
Second seeded Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka, in his first tournament on clay since last year's French Open, beat Argentine 2007 champion Juan Monaco 7-5, 6-3 on Court 2 and will meet eighth seed Juan Ignacio Chela in the other semifinal.
Chela made sure one Argentine reached the last four when he completed a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win over fourth seed Albert Montanes of Spain to reach his third semi-final at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. The pair were locked at 3-3 in the third set of the only quarterfinal to start Friday before the rain.
Roddick downs Hewitt
US top seed Andy Roddick, seeking his third Memphis crown and 30th ATP title, outlasted Australian Lleyton Hewitt 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 Friday to reach the semifinals of an ATP and WTA indoor event.
Canadian wild card Milos Raonic, seeking his second title in two weeks, and compatriot Rebecca Marino, seeking her first WTA final, both advanced at the 1.32 million-dollar tournament.
Raonic beat US qualifier Robert Kendrick 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
He reached a Saturday semi-final against US fourth seed Mardy Fish, who downed defending champion Sam Querrey 6-3, 6-4.
Marino, the sixth seed and the lone seed to reach the last eight, outlasted Russia's Evgeniya Rodina 6-7 (1/7), 6-4, 6-1 in her first WTA semi-final.
She will play for the title on Saturday against Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova, who bounced Czech Lucie Hradecka 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
Martic, Johansson in semis
In Bogota, Colombia, Petra Martic of Croatia reached her first WTA semifinals when she beat Laura Pous-Tio of Spain 7-6 (4), 6-3 at the Copa Colsanitas Friday.
Martic will meet seventh-seeded Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain, the 2006 Bogota champion.
Dominguez Lino beat compatriot and qualifier Beatriz Garcia Vidagany 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals. The other semifinal will also mark the first on tour for Mathilde Johansson of France, after two appearances in the last eight.
Johansson topped Colombian wild card Catalina Castano 6-3, 7-6 (5) and will play fifth-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain.
Suarez Navarro beat Han Xinyun of China 6-4, 6
