JEDDAH: The number of factories in Jeddah 2nd Industrial City would reach 400 with an investment reaching SR25 billion once the development is completed. The Saudi Industrial Property Authority said Abdullah Zainal Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Modon, in the presence of Director General of Modon, Dr Tawfig Alrabiah, signed recently infrastructure projects contracts for the 1st phase of Jeddah 2nd industrial city amounting to SR1.7 billion on an area of 8 million square meters. It said the systems provided by Modon will contribute in reducing power consumption to 50 percent of energy. District energy is widespread because of its added value in using less energy compared to conventional ones, the statement said. Modon has exerted laudable efforts in better serving the factories to focus on their basic industries and providing them with their logistic needs within a comprehensive program.
