JEDDAH: Zinda Tilismat of Hyderabad emerged Division-I Natco Cup champion after beating ACE Travels & Tours by a comfortable 8 wickets as the inform opener Javed Ahmed hit a match-winning 86 runs in just 41 deliveries.
This tournament, which was organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA), is sponsored by the Natco International Freight & Cargo Services.
ACE Travels won the toss and elected to bat first. Its decision was proved wrong as the wickets started falling at regular intervals. It made 176 in the allotted 20 overs against the favorite Zinda Tilismat of Hyderabad India.
No. 6 batsman Shoaib was the highest scorer for the Travelmen as he made a valuable 52 in 26 balls. Others who contributed for ACE Travels were all-rounder Imran 29, Shakeel 15, Irfan 13, Rayeesuddin 11 and Anwar Ahmed Khan 11. There were 23 extras. Mohammad Sadathullah with his tempting slow spinners cut the middle order with a flattering figures of 4-18. Irfan had 2-15, Noman 2-36 while Nazeer and Sarfaraz got one wicket each for 18 and 35 runs respectively. Zinda Tilismat reached 178-2 in 13 overs. Explosive Javed Ahmed made a quickfire 86 in just 41 deliveries with 15 hits to the fence and three sixes. His partner Irfan was caught brilliantly by Rayeesuddin at long on boundary for 18. Star batsman Zaman made 54 not out in 19 balls. He hit 4 fours and 5 sixes. Nazeer remained unbeaten on 8. medium fast bowlers Rayeesuddin and Imran claimed one wicket each.
The final was officiated by senior cricketers Syed Viqaruddin and Zahid Khan.
