A Saudi woman was apprehended driving a car in Buraidah. A security patrol caught the woman, who “was obeying her husband's orders to drive him home from a car showroom,” Lt. Col. Fahd Al-Habdan, Al-Qassim Region Police spokesman was quoted by Al-Hayat newspaper on Sunday. Driving by women is banned in the Kingdom. Al-Habdan said the woman and her husband have been referred to concerned authorities. The woman was released after her guardian signed an undertaking that she would not repeat her action. According to reports, the husband was at the showroom in the northern part of the city to sell his car. The area is about 10 km away from his house and no taxis were available. He did not have any alternative but to phone his wife to pick him up. __
