Authorities have ordered partial closure of a well-known hospital here after a number of violations were detected at the institution. The hospital was found to be suffering from shortage of manpower and lack of basic medical facilities. The hospital also reportedly violated the rules on contagion combat and medical waste disposal. Authorities closed hospitalization and surgery sections, allowing only outpatient clinics to remain open. Meanwhile, authorities halted labor medical examinations in one of the private clinics for “not following a scientific mechanism in preserving samples.” Dr. Mohsin Al-Tobaiqi, Director General of Jizan's Health Affairs, said any health violations will be strictly dealt with. Dr. Al-Tobaiqi instructed the formation of four affiliated committees in Samtah, Abi Aresh, Sabia and Beesh to inspect private establishments and pharmacies. – Okaz __
