Alvaro Gonzalez scored an early goal in the 17th and Libor Kozak added another in the 58th to earn the Rome team a comfortable win that puts it seven points behind league leader AC Milan. Fiorentina twice came from behind to earn its first away win in over a year with a 4-2 victory at Palermo. Deportivo beats Villarreal Alberto Lopo's second-half goal lead Deportivo La Coruna to a 1-0 win over Villarreal in the Spanish league Sunday, and Jose Rondon's injury-time equalizer gave Malaga a 2-2 draw with Getafe. Villarreal dropped to fourth place with its second straight loss, two points behind provincial rival Valencia. David Trezeguet scored Hercules' 89th-minute winner in a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Zaragoza for his team's first win in five games. Levante beat Almeria 1-0 from a goal by Felipe Caicedo, and Raul Tamudo gave Real Sociedad a 1-0 win over Osasuna. Barcelona drew 1-1 at Sporting Gijon Saturday, bringing an end to the Spanish leader's record run of consecutive wins and breathing life into the league race. David Barral scored Sporting's opener in the 16th. After Sporting played better in the first half, Barcelona dominated from the restart and David Villa leveled the score in the 80th, beautifully chipping goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar. Previously, the back-to-back champion had won a historic 16 straight games, outscoring its opponents 60-6 along the way. Bolton blanks Everton Daniel Sturridge kept up his impressive scoring record for Bolton to inspire a 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Everton in the Premier League Sunday. The England under-21 forward scored for the third straight match since joining on loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day, smashing home a swerving finish in the 67th minute to seal Bolton's victory. Sturridge, who was one of English football's great hopes when he came through the ranks at Manchester City, rarely featured at Chelsea following his move to Stamford Bridge in 2009. But he is flourishing now he is getting regular starts at Bolton. Gary Cahill put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute. Bolton is now a point behind seventh-place Sunderland. Podolski strikes Lukas Podolski and Milivoje Novakovic each scored twice as Cologne beat Mainz 4-2 in the Bundesliga Sunday. Cologne provisionally moves out of the relegation zone into 13th place while Mainz drops to fourth. Brazil thrashes Uruguay Brazil hammered Uruguay 6-0 Saturday in the closing match of South American qualifying for the Under-20 World Cup. The victory earned Brazil a berth at the 2012 London Olympics. Uruguay had already earned the second spot from regional qualifying. In addition, BrazilUruguay, Argentina and Ecuador earned places in the Under-20 World Cup which will be played later this year in Colombia.
