JIZAN: An Arab expatriate was caught after he stabbed one of his countrymen in Madina and fled to the border area near Al-Tawal checkpoint in an attempt to sneak into Yemen, officials said. The suspect, who police said stabbed the man in his chest, tried to mislead security authorities at the checkpost by turning himself in, but the fingerprint system discovered his trick and showed that he was a legal resident who was wanted by police in Madina. Col. Abdullah Mahfouz, spokesman for the Frontier Guard in Jizan, said passport authorities' suspicions were aroused by the man's attempt to turn himself in. They took his fingerprints to see if he had a criminal record and learned that he fled Madina after police said he stabbed a man there. Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Muhammad Al-Aaidi, commander of the Frontier Guard in Jizan, said there is close coordination among all security authorities to arrest suspects and those with criminal records.
