TAIF: The Okaz Cultural Café at the Arts and Culture Society in Taif opened its fifth year of events Friday with an evening of arts and heritage presented by the Pakistani community. Cultural Café manager Sami Al-Zahrani said in his speech at the opening that the café's activities would encourage contributions from other communities to promote cultural ties between patrons and visitors. Faisal Al-Khadaidi, the Pakistani Community General Coordinator, thanked the café and everyone involved in its activities, and spoke of the “varied colors of Pakistan's heritage and folklore”. The opening of the café concluded with the presentation of the café's commemorative shield to the president of the Pakistani community, while the Pakistani community presented two commemorative gifts to the Arts and Culture Society consisting in photographs of King Abdullah, Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince Sultan, which were accepted on the behalf of the society by its former manager Abdul Aziz Asiri along with other commemorative gifts to society members. The evening was rounded off with the national anthems of both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
