JEDDAH: The Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Chair for Arabian Peninsula History and Civilization Studies at King Saud University is preparing to publish its first historical publication, entitled “The History of the Arabian Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula in Portuguese Documents”. The work, which will be the Chair's first historical publication since its establishment one year ago, contains translations into Arabic of 131 Portuguese documents covering the Gregorian years of 1508 to 1568. The Prince Salman Chair was set up to promote historical and cultural academic studies and invite researchers to give lectures on the history of the Arabian Peninsula, finance joint studies, and offer consultations and studies on subjects related to the Chair's activities to government and non-government bodies.
