THE Globe Restaurant, located at the top of 267-meter high Al-Faisaliah Tower in Riyadh, announced a six-day Globe Summit by inviting four Michelin-starred chefs from the US, Spain, Switzerland and France. The chefs will present diners at the Globe Restaurant with some of the world's best cuisine. Peter Finamore, Managing Director of Al-Faisaliah Hotel said The Globe Summit, an unprecedented event organized in the Middle East will be held in Riyadh from Feb. 13 to 18 at Riyadh's landmark The Globe Restaurant. “Besides bringing some of the world's best cuisine to diners, the event will also organize educational cooking seminars by these Michelin-starred chefs,” he said. The Michelin star rating is the most recognized rating system in the culinary world in Western Europe. The Globe Summit is part of an endeavor to promote the Saudi tourism industry, by offering world-class food to domestic, regional or international visitors. The Globe Summit will be organized in cooperation with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), said Finamore. The Michelin-starred chefs present during the six-day Globe Summit will demonstrate cooking styles by creating some of the most extravagant delicacies. “There will be a question and answer session with the chefs,” he added. He said that the four chefs, from some of the world's most acclaimed kitchens, will create menus that include the essence of their respective regions in signature dishes that have earned them international culinary fame. The diners at The Globe Restaurant will learn the secrets of Michelin-starred chefs, sample fine dining's latest trends and discovering the rarest delicacies from the four corners of the world,” Finamore said He added that the number of hotels in Saudi Arabia will double to 12,000 during the next 18 months. The number of visitors to Saudi Arabia in 2009 stood at 10.9 million.
