TALLINN: American Ashton Eaton broke his own world record for the indoor heptathlon Sunday at a meeting in Estonia. The 23-year-old Eaton tallied 6,568 points, 69 points more than his previous world record set in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in March 2010. On Saturday's first day of competition, Eaton set a personal best for shot put of 14.45 meters and ran the 60 metres sprint in 6.66 seconds. On Sunday, he had another personal best with 7.60 in the 60 meters hurdles and ran the final event, the 1,000 metres, in 2:34.74. Estonian Andres Raja was second.
