year-old boy has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a fire at a gas station in the Al-Hindawiya District here caused by last week's floods. Abdullah Al-Jiddawi, head of the Civil Defense in Jeddah, said that heavy rains caused leaks in the station's storage tank which had a “faulty cover” to combust when they came into contact with a spark from an unidentified source. The fire consumed nine vehicles at the site and left four persons who happened to be present with burns of varying degrees of seriousness. Al-Jiddawi offered his condolences to the family of the victim and said that an investigation would reveal the full details of the incident and any failures in safety standards at the site.
