RIYADH: The flood drainage projects at the Royal Commission in Jubail have a projected lifespan of 50 years, Riyadh mayoralty officials were told Monday. Khalid Al-Bahloul, General Director of Execution and Supervision at the Riyadh Mayor's Office, was given a tour and a briefing on the history of Jubail Industrial City and the work of its Royal Commission, during which he viewed the roads and overpasses completed as well as ongoing works at Jubail 2. He also looked at work undertaken by the Royal Commission in Jubail to construct roads, underpasses and rain drainage networks. Ahmad Al-Balwi, Director General of Technical Affairs at the Royal Commission said that the basic network was designed to cope with rainwater and floods for 50 years and provide rainwater storage precautions in areas vulnerable to flooding on both sides of channels.
