MADRID: Real Madrid's La Liga title hopes suffered a huge blow with a 1-0 defeat at Osasuna Sunday which left Jose Mourinho's side seven points adrift of leader Barcelona. Javier Camunas broke the deadlock with a shot off the post in the 62nd minute of a typically bruising battle at the Reyno de Navarra Stadium. Mourinho responded with a triple substitution, throwing new loan signing Emmanuel Adebayor into the fray, but they were unable to find a way past a side which had not won in its previous eight games. Real's second defeat of the season left it second on 51 points from 21 games, behind Barca with 58, after the champion won its 15th consecutive match 3-0 at Hercules Saturday. Earlier, Gaizka Toquero scored both goals in Athletic Bilbao's 2-0 win at 10-man Atletico Madrid to increase the pressure on home coach Quique Sanchez Flores. Bilbao's balding frontman, who wears the number two shirt, bagged his first goals of the season, volleying in unmarked just before the break and sliding in to double the lead in the 64th minute. Atletico had been playing with 10 men from the 39th minute, when Luis Perea was harshly sent off after a clumsy challenge on Fernando Llorente in the area. The Spain striker fired the spot kick wide. Sanchez Flores has been feeling the heat with his side out of Europe and the King's Cup. Sunday's defeat left them seventh in the standings, five points adrift of sixth-placed Bilbao and 10 short of the Champions League slots. Barcelona Saturday avenged its only defeat in the league this season with a record-equaling 3-0 win over Hercules. To add to its fierce rival's plight, Barcelona's 15th consecutive league win equals Madrid's record that had stood since the 1960-61 season. In this winning stretch, Barcelona has outscored its opponents 57-6. Pedro Rodriguez scored the opener in the 43rd, blasting in a pass from Xavi Hernandez, and Lionel Messi scored two goals in the last three minutes to seal the win at Rico Perez stadium. Also, Sporting Gijon routed Mallorca 4-0 for its first away win in the league this season, 10-man Sevilla drew 3-3 at Deportivo La Coruna, and Levante downed Getafe 2-0.
