JEDDAH: Traffic police have managed to control traffic on all the roads and streets affected by the Black Wednesday floods. Brigadier Muhammad Hassan Al-Qatani, Director of the Jeddah Traffic Police, said they dealt with 22,000 cars piled-up by the floods. He said the traffic police have succeeded in tightening control over Al-Haramain Expressway and rescued passengers from more than 3,000 cars. He said the traffic patrols stationed on Al-Haramain Expressway have resorted to a temporary concrete barrier in the middle island to ease the flow of storm water which collected in the middle of various streets.
