Rising number of Saudi students study abroad

RIYADH: The Ministry of Higher Education has said that the number of persons who have enrolled on the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarships Abroad Program is 110,000, a figure it expects to increase by 40,000.
Of the total figure 36,000 – almost a third - have studied at 900 universities and colleges in the United States of America, with 15,000 in the United Kingdom and 10,000 in Canada.
Press reports produced by the Saudi embassy in France show that 1,180 Saudis have studied in France. That figure is expected to rise to 4,000 by the end of 2012.
