The Kingdom is seeking the help of specialist United Nations agencies for development of 10,173 villages and rural complexes across the country. The go-ahead signal has already come from Kind Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Mansour Bin Me'teb, Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, was quoted by Okaz as saying Thursday. Addressing a meeting organized by members of the Municipal Council in Makkah, Prince Mansour said the ministry had worked out a mechanism to develop all villages and rural complexes. He said the ministry has formed a consultation team to assess the experiment of the municipal councils to develop them further. “In this framework the ministry has asked all the members of the councils to provide the ministry with their proposals for the development of this experiment,” Prince Mansour said. The provided data, the minister said, will help in enabling the consultation team make regulations defining the tasks of these councils.
