year-old Jibran Al-Qahtani, who went missing from his home in Abha late November, has been found in a valley area close to the Al-Namees district where he lived. Al-Qahtani's family does not believe his death to be suspicious. A police spokesman said that the body was found by a seven-year-old boy near a girls' school in the area, and his mother alerted the authorities. “Investigations have begun into the cause of death,” the spokesman said. Ali Al-Qahtani, a son of the deceased and who had made repeated appeals for information from the public during the nine-week search, said he doubted that any suspicious circumstances would be connected to his father's death. “He didn't carry any form of identity, and he suffered from partial memory loss,” he said. An uncle of the deceased added that Al-Qahtani's body was found with his cane, keys and money intact. An extensive search for the 90-year-old was launched at the very end of November after he left his house to pray at the local mosque but failed to return. Helicopters joined in the search and missing person notices were posted at over 100 sites in the area. The Civil Defense also conducted searches of wells and storage tanks at nearby farms, while Al-Qahtani's family raised SR100,000 for a reward for any information leading to his whereabouts.
