JEDDAH: On the occasion of the expected return of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi singers and musicians are preparing to record a range of patriotic songs. Three giants of Saudi song and verse have produced an anthem of welcome for King Abdullah which will be broadcast in the media in the near future. The song – “When will you be back O King?” – features lyrics by poet Prince Badr Bin Abdul Muhsin, composition and arrangement by Abdul Rab Idrees and the celebrated voice of Muhammad Abdu. “When will our Sheikh return,” the song laments. “The nation is absent in your absence… You are the father and light of all the peninsula…”
