Published in The Saudi Gazette on 20 - 01 - 2011

CAPE TOWN: Batting stalwart Jacques Kallis was named in South Africa's World Cup squad Tuesday despite missing the current series against India due to a rib injury.
“Jacques is undergoing ongoing treatment but it's a week-by-week thing. I'm confident though that he will be fit for the World Cup,” team doctor Mohamed Moosajee told a news conference Tuesday.
The 35-year-old all-rounder is also a top-class seam bowler, allowing the team to play a specialist batsman at seven.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Morne van Wyk, who smashed South Africa's quickest Twenty20 half-century two weeks ago, is the only other player named who was not part of the squad for the first three one-day internationals against India.
Squad: Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Colin Ingram, Johan Botha, Wayne Parnell, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Robin Peterson, Imran Tahir, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Morne van Wyk.
