DAMMAM: The World Association of Muslim Youth's (WAMY) Eastern Province Da'wah Department, has begun Holy Qur'an recitation classes for expatriate women. The classes, which are held in the morning, three days a week, will teach ladies to recite with Tajweed (recitation rules). Fathima Khan, the Director of the Girl's Madaris of WAMY in Dammam, told Saudi Gazette that this would be an excellent opportunity for expatriate women to learn the Holy Qur'an. “We are beginning from the very basics for those who are unable to read Arabic, that is, we will teach them starting with the alphabet. Those who are able to read can correct their pronunciation and we will teach them to recite the Holy Qur'an following Tajweed rules,” she said. “We are also conducting Hifz (learning the chapters of the Holy Qur'an by heart) classes for those who are able to recite very well. This would be a good opportunity for expatriate women to make use of their free time in the morning which they otherwise would spend sleeping,” said Khan. Khan said that an Arabic language and conversation course is also on the cards if they get enough people. The classes are conducted at the WAMY center in Dammam. Khan said that ladies can contact her at 0564990576 to register.
