TAIF: The Civil Defense is investigating how a four-year-old child fell into an exposed sewage drainage facility near Al-Hadaban Park Monday and had to be admitted to intensive care after he was rescued by passers-by. The incident follows the recent death of a child in the region after falling into a similarly unguarded sewer opening. “We have started an investigation into the incident,” a spokesman for the Civil Defense said. “The site was in the vicinity of a mosque and it has now been secured and made safe.” He added that officials were waiting for the child to be discharged from the hospital to hear how he came to fall in the sewer. “Everyone in the region should inform the authorities immediately of any dangerous and exposed sewer openings,” the spokesman said.
