MADINA: Security patrols in Madina arrested a Saudi national Friday who fired three shots in the air while he was in a car showroom and fled the scene after a fracas in which two people were injured and were rushed to Al-Meeqat Hospital, police and sources said. A source told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that a dispute broke out among several people and one of them got a pistol from his car and fired shots in the air, which caused a state of panic and a stampede of citizens fleeing the scene. Security men found three empty shells at the scene and authorities arrested the suspect near Prince Naif Planned District on Al-Hijra Madina-Makkah Expressway, the source said. Security patrols surrounded the area after receiving a report about the incident, said Brig. Gen. Muhsin Al-Raddadi, spokesman of Madina Police, who added that investigations are under way to determine what caused the incident. A medical source said the two people who were taken to the hospital suffered minor injuries when they collided with each other and that they will be discharged when their conditions are stable.
