JEDDAH: The Kingdom urges all political parties to work together to end the political impasse in Lebanon, said Awaad Asiri, the Kingdom's Ambassador to Lebanon. He said that Saudi Arabia will never interfere in the domestic affairs of another country and said the solution to the situation lies in the hands of the Lebanese people. In a telephonic interview with Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Asiri said the Kingdom will always support Lebanon and will work with various parties to ensure the country's security and stability. He said the solution to the crisis lies in the hands of the Lebanese people and can be achieved through rational dialogue between all the parties. Asiri emphasized that the negotiation table is the only way to overcome the crisis. He called on all the Lebanese political players to preserve the country's unity and find solutions that will achieve internal security and peace. He said that they should place the interests of the country first, instead of resorting to conflict. He urged them to follow sound reason. The prosecutor of the UN-backed Lebanon tribunal will “imminently” send a draft indictment over the 2005 killing of former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri to the pre-trial judge, sources familiar with the case said Friday. Sources told Reuters that the indictment will be sent to tribunal pre-trial judge Daniel Fransen for confirmation imminently, saying it could “perhaps come as early as next week”. It is now expected that the court will make an announcement when it has been filed. Hezbollah has repeatedly denied any involvement in the killing.
