(Courtesy photo)JEDDAH: A recent workshop here stressed on the importance of increasing awareness among the new generation the different productive uses of computer sciences. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bedawi, Dean of Computer Sciences and Information Technology College at King AbdulAziz University, delivered the lecture at Jeddah Club for Scientific Creativity here. Dr. Bedawi dwelt at length on the the future of computer sciences and stressed on how communication has become easier with the advancement in the information technology. “We need to teach our new generation the best use of this technology so that it is able to deal and improve the technology and acquire more active skills,” he said. He pointed out that there were many IT job opportunities for Saudi youth both in public and private sectors. Meanwhile, more than 300 students of Jeddah schools last week participated in the forum of computer and technology organized by Computer Sciences Club of Jeddah Education Directorate. The one-week forum aimed at educating the students on use of computers for education purposes and guiding the students on the right use of Internet. It is also included other workshops about designing the website, principles of VB programming, photographs editing, computer maintenance and distance learning.
