JEDDAH: Prince Misha'l Bin Majed Bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Jeddah, handed out the city's Creativity Awards at a grand function held here Tuesday. Addressing the winners and guests, Prince Misha'l stressed the importance of the prize and urged citizens to take care of their city. He said the city is the Bride of the Red Sea and needs to be adorned with beautiful things. Dr. Hani Abu Rass, Mayor of Jeddah and the award's Chairman, said the mayoralty adopted the idea of the prize in 2002 to draw attention to the importance of improving the natural and urban environment since the city is a tourist attraction and the main gate to the holy cities of Makkah and Madina. Dr. Tareq Fadak, the award's Secretary General, said the prize has been designed in a way to celebrate innovation and creativity in terms of architecture, the environment and the arts. He pointed out that the awards were the brainchild of the late Prince Abdul Majed Bin Abdul Aziz, the former Emir of Makkah region. The architecture prize went to Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Kamel; Muhammad Fayez grabbed the environment award, and Layla Al-Ghamdi was awarded the art prize for her painting at the Girl's Education College. Those who received awards included the Saudi Ittihad Club as a strategic partner. Ibrahim Ali Amir Alwan received the shield. Okaz Organization for Press and Publication was awarded as information partner with Ahmed Al-Butah, Okaz Assistant Director General for Human Resources receiving the shield. The following officers received awards: Dr. Tariq Ali Fadaq, Jamal Abu Amarah, Jamal Kamil Azhar, Muhammad Ali Yami, Dr. Hisham Abdul Salam, Muhammad Juma, Fawwaz Abid Ba-Khatma, Tariq Hamza Shalabi and Faisla Muhammad Flimban. Those who received awards for excellence in arts were Rabea Al-Haris, Hanan Halwani, Yasir Azhar and artist Basim Al
