JEDDAH: The Charitable Association for Health Education in Saudi Arabia has coordinated with Al Rabie Saudi Foods to launch the “Hayatona” award for excellence in health awareness. Al Rabie is supporting the award based on its belief in the important role of food companies in promoting health awareness and health improvement initiatives in the Kingdom in particular, and across the Arab region in general. The Charitable Association for Health Education (Hayatona) is a non-profit professional association working under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Affairs. It aims to contribute to the development of health awareness by establishing a framework for professionals and providing training and advisory services covering research, policies and systems in accordance with the best local and international standards. The society focuses on raising awareness on public, clinical, and school health. The society also participates in the implementation of health awareness programs; training workshops on health enhancement; and the implementation of relevant health studies. In addition, the organization helps develop quality standards for health awareness programs and materials, distributes health awareness leaflets, and provides scholarships related to health awareness and enhancement. The idea behind the “Hayatona” award is to develop a mechanism for achieving a quantum leap in the promotion and support of health awareness programs and activities in the Kingdom. The initiative also aims to highlight outstanding creative work in the field of health awareness and encourage more of such activities. Al Rabie Saudi Foods supports the award as part of its CSR programs and in line with its mission of providing healthy food products, which complements social and national activities and contributes to promoting health awareness in society.
