JEDDAH: The General Presidency of Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has banned sleeping in the Grand Mosque in Makkah until the middle of the month of Shawwal – approximately the middle of September – in accordance with the new Umrah season plan. Muhammad Al-Khuzayyim, Vice President of Grand Mosque Affairs, said the new plan was designed to help persons at the mosque carry out their rituals in peace and tranquility and provide an environment of worship in the Two Holy Mosques and their environs. “The plan will be put into action through 4,000 staff and workers, as well as cleaning, maintenance and operations staff,” he said.
