KHOBAR: A court in Qatif sentenced Saturday a Saudi prison inmate to five years' prison and 350 lashes of the whip after he used a hospital visit to attempt to smuggle drugs back into prison. A source said that the smuggling operation involved a pre-arranged meeting with an unknown person with whom he swapped shoes and that when the inmate returned to the prison he was overcome by nerves at the final inspection check and confessed. “They found 160 Captogon pills and 200 grams of hashish in his shoe,” the source said. The court also banned the man from traveling outside the Kingdom for a further five years and fined him SR5,000.
