JEDDAH: The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu is set to travel to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on 10 January 2011 where he is expected to launch a number of humanitarian programs specifically designed by the OIC to rebuild what have been damaged by the floods, that hit the north, west and south regions of Pakistan in July-August last year. The humanitarian programs will be announced next Tuesday in implementation of the OIC Secretary General's directions and pursuant to the recommendations of the emergency meeting convened in Islamabad last August by the OIC for its partners in the humanitarian domain on the tragedy of the floods that was chaired by Professor Ihsanoglu and Mr. Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan. Worth noting that the meeting announced pledges of about $ 700 million which will be reallocated by Islamic Development Bank to reconstruction of the damaged building by the floods.
