RIYADH: Minister of Trade and Industry Abdullah Zainal opens Saturday in Riyadh a three-day awareness program on the “Kingdom's gains from joining the World Trade Organization (WTO).” The program is organized in cooperation with the private sector. The program consists of three meetings. The second will be in Dammam Sunday and the third in Jeddah Monday. Muhammad Bin Hamad Al-Kuthairi, the ministry's Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, said the topics will concentrate on two important issues: the first is Saudi industry getting on to international markets and the second is avoiding cases of dumping in international markets. He said the two issues are receiving a great deal of attention because of their influence on local trade discussions and the economy. He said the meetings will be held with the participation of a group of the ministry's international trade specialists and experts from the General Secretariat of the WTO.
