known Indian Islamic scholar, Jamal Mohammad, passed away here Friday at Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. Famous in Kerala circles in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, he was admitted to the hospital on Thursday. He was found to be suffering from internal bleeding of the heart. The doctors operated twice on him but could not save his life. Many of his students and representatives of Islamic organizations attended his funeral at Ruwais cemetery. He was known to be a great writer and Qur'anic scholar for more than 40 years. He is survived by his wife Fatima Beevi, daughters Ruhibanu and Najlabanu and son Musheerul Haque.
