five percent of private schools are failing to meet Ministry of Education conditions for the implementation of the curricula system, conditions which include the provision of permanent supervisory staff and monitors of teaching performance. Sources told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that private schools for boys and girls were required to have permanent administrative and educational staff qualified to implement the system, provide a “suitable school building for secondary education with no fewer than 12 classrooms and no fewer than 200 pupils”, and provide technical classrooms for computer studies and sciences, learning resources centers, offices for registration and academic guidance, pupil activity halls, sports grounds, and car parking facilities. A copy of the conditions revealed that schools are further obliged to provide Internet facilities and an internal communications network.
