sized piece of gauze was allegedly left in a woman's stomach during a surgery at a private hospital. Two months after the surgery for appendectomy, the woman started complaining of acute abdominal pain. Doctors at several other hospitals only prescribed painkillers but to no avail, Okaz reported. The Health Affairs Department in Makkah is investigating a complaint filed by a Saudi citizen in this regard. As the woman showed no relief, she underwent an X-ray which showed a foreign body in her stomach. A surgery was again recommended and the operating surgeons were appalled to find the piece of gauze in her abdomen. Woman's husband has called to make all accountable for the grave error. __
