Faisal, Emir of Makkah, congratulated and praised the winners of the Holy Qur'an contest which ended here Sunday. Prince Khaled handed over cash prizes to the winners from the Kingdom, Kuwait, Yemen, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Nigeria, Niger, Turkey, and Bangladesh. The contest was the King Abdulaziz 32nd International Contest for the Intonation, Interpretation and Memorization of the Holy Qur'an. Addressing the ceremony, Prince Khaled conveyed the greetings and best wishes of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to the contestants. He said that the Kingdom's growth and development has been the most significant under the leadership of the government which has done a great deal to establish a modern and model Islamic state, guided by the divine constitution found in the Holy Qur'an. Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul Aziz Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, said: “We congratulate ourselves on the good health and recovery of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and wish him a safe return to the homeland.'' He also thanked the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Second Deputy Premier for supporting the contest. The ceremony was attended by Prince Meshal Bin Majed Bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Jeddah, and a number of officials.
