Jeddah Municipality has initiated a new plan to build health clubs and culture centers in the city to encourage sports activities. “This project comes in the context of municipality's quest to provide public parks and recreational places for the youth and families and to create an awareness on the importance of sport, culture and public health,” sai Saleh Mufti, Director of the Projects Department. He added that municipality has earmarked four sites to open public gardens. Work is under way to finalize the garden and cultural centers for children, he said. The municipality's proposed public park in Al-Nahdah District will have health club, athletics center, games for children, open-air stadium for tennis, swimming pool, and a gym.
